This design is based on the CH-46 Sea Knight (BuNo #153389) nicknamed “Blood Sweat & Tears” of HMM 263. During the Vietnam War, on January 31st, 1970, “Blood Sweat & Tears” was the helicopter that carried Private First Class Raymond Mike Clausen when he rescued 20 Marines from a minefield whilst under heavy enemy fire. With eight Marines holding their positions for fear of detonating other mines, Clausen made six trips through the minefield carrying out one dead and eleven wounded Marines. Clausen would receive the Medal of Honor for this action, He was the only enlisted member of the Marine Corps Aviation to receive the Medal of Honor during the Vietnam War.
